Ex-Centric Souths: (Re)Imagining Southern Centers and Peripheriesadds a voice in ongoing attempts to chart new routes and to decenterthe South in many ways in the hope of exploring Southern identity andmultiple Souths. The articles collected in this volume bring to theforefront the translocal and transnational connections andrelationships between the South and the circum-Caribbean region, theyaddress the changing nature of Southernness, and especially its senseof place, and finally they investigate the potential of various textsto narrate and revisit regional concerns. Some contributions hold upto view topics ignored and marginalized, while other decontextualizethemes and issues central to Southern studies by telling alternativehistories. Losartículos recogidos en este volumen se centran en las conexiones yrelaciones translocales y transnacionales entre el Sur y la región del Caribe, abordan la naturaleza cambiante de la identidad sureña,especialmente su sentido del lugar, y, finalmente, investigan elpotencial de varios textos para narrar y revisar las preocupacionesregionales.
